Description
This is a rounded rectangular birch bark box that is embellished and decorated with quills, which are unstained and remain in their natural colors white and brown, that depict a rabbit running along the side of the box showing images of continuous stages of motion and has a rabbit on the top of the lid of the box surrounded by a dark scalloped design that trims the border of the lid. This scallop detail is also seen on the bottom of the box. There is sweet grass on the trim. There is a birch bark liner on the inside of the box so that the attachment of the quills can not be seen. Has the inscription in ink on the outside bottom of the box, "Yvonne M. Keschik Falling Leaf Odawa/Ojibwa".
