Description

Art basket made in the shape of the torso of a pregnant woman. Woven from thin strips of black ash, light in color. Sweet grass trim at the rim. Made by Ottawa-Chippewa basket weaver Cherish Parrish. The bottom of the basket is rectangular. The top opening is a rounded square. "Cherish Parrish Gun Lake Tribe 2012 Cherish Parrish Gun Lake Tribe 2012" handwritten on bottom of basket in ink.
