Creation Story

Creation stories can vary from tribe to tribe. For the Haudenosaunee tribe, the creation story stems from a woman who fell into the sea from a hole in the sky. In the story, there are two twin brothers who are opposite in emotion and personality. The two carvings and baskets can represent what each brother brought to the earth (good and bad) and how it links the creation of the earth, to the present and the afterlife.
