Utility of the Item

pincushion2.jpg

This item was probably made and used by Odawa women. This pincushion may have had a ribbon attached to it which allowed it to be worn around the user’s wrist. One would stick metal pins into its sides to be handy while sewing clothing. This pincushion may have been used by Odawa women who worked in the Catholic Church in Cross Village, and possibly by Sisters who would have been charged with repairing the clerical clothing used by the priests.
