This intricately detailed box is composed primarily of porcupine quills and birch bark with sweetgrass to bind it. The box is relatively large at 8.5 inches in diameter and 5.5 inches high. It is a delicate piece of artwork that reuires special handling and care. The box is a representation of historical and cultural aspects of the Michigan Indigenous peoples. For Walker-Keshick, a lot of her art depicits womanhood, communion with nature, and local plants and animals that are significant to her region (MacDowel and Reed 1995).
